BIBLE READING PLAN GUIDELINES
There seems to be more Bible reading plans in books and on‐line than one can imagine.
Many tell you what they think this or that means.
The following is what BibleStudies.org recommends.
It is simple and it works, because it makes you learn to trust in God for understanding, and not men.
BEGIN reading JOHN'S GOSPEL in the New Testament. This is perhaps the easiest to understand. Read it 3 times.
Then go to Matthew's Gospel and read the entire New Testament in order. Do this 3 times. Don't become discouraged
when you read the Revelation. Don't rely on others, even your church, that try to tell you what this or that means. Then read the whole Bible.
BEGIN on your knees asking God to help you.
DO NOT go out and buy a Commentary Bible or a Bible Commentary book before you have actually read through the entire Bible.
The first time you read the New Testament, there will
be much you do not understand.
This is normal. The second time you read it, you will understand a little more. As you understand, obey it. The 10th time you read it your understanding should be
vastly increased. It is very common to hear preachers, even Bible professors say that they just discovered several new things in the Bible they never knew before, even after
many years. Understanding God's Word is like going to school. You begin in the first grade. By the third grade, you understand a lot more. Deeper and deeper understanding of
God's Word never stops for the faithful that do not shrink back.
